We celebrate seven of our high school learners who were awarded the President’s Gold Award by H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, The President of the Republic of Kenya, and the Patron of The President's Award-Kenya. The Ceremony took place on Friday, 13 May 2022 at State House, Nairobi. We are extremely proud of our learners, Congratulations!
The awardees are:-
- MARVIN IMBWAGA MATHANI
- BARASA WHITNEY NASIMIYU
- CHOKAA BERITTA ANDEYU
- ED JAY AVNER ALUODO
- SUDEIS MOHAMED BARRE
- MOSES KANYI
- TREVOR FRANCIS YAGOMBA
The award has three categories: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and a residential project which must be completed before one is eligible for a gold award. At each level, participants must set themselves personal goals in each section. These goals should be achievable and progressive, and ultimately allow the young person to feel a sense of achievement when they complete each section.
The President's Award-Kenya is a self-development programme for young people that was started in 1966, which aims at equipping them with positive life skills to enable them to make a difference for themselves, their communities, country and the world. Makini Schools has been participating in The President's Award-Kenya since 2010.
We appreciate Francis Githinji and Silas Wafula for their efforts in coordinating this programme.
