Makini Kisumu Teachers Participate in CBC Training

Makini Kisumu CBC Training

The Makini Kisumu campuses had their CBC training from 16th  to 18th  March 2022. Fifty teachers participated in this activity. This training was facilitated by Pivot Publishing and Training Consultants.

The training included:

  • Components of curriculum design
  • CBC professional documents
  • Assessment in CBC
  • Assessing for competencies and values
  • Recording and reporting learner performance
  • Micro-teaching

The teachers had a great time getting involved in this three-day training and concluded that Competency-Based Education (CBE) is an approach to teaching and learning that focuses on concrete skills and competencies as compared to abstract learning. Learners advance based on their ability to master a skill or competence at their own pace, regardless of the environment, leading to more efficient learner outcomes.
