Statement by Makini Schools Board and Management on False Allegations to the School and its Administration

Nairobi, July 12, 2023 – The Advisory Board and Management of Makini Schools has recently been made aware of defamatory and false allegations made against the school and its Managing Director by a faction of the PTA and submitted through Apollo & Co Advocates in a letter that has subsequently been widely circulated.

These allegations have found their way into several online publications, seeded with the deliberate intention to cause reputational harm to Makini Schools, and to cause alarm to our community of parents, learners and staff.

The Board and Management of Makini Schools wishes to unequivocally state that these allegations are both false and malicious, and we have adequate evidence to show that they have no basis in facts. Makini Schools is resolute in its commitment to safeguarding the reputation and legacy we have diligently built over the years. To this end, we have instructed our legal counsel to take conclusive action against the perpetrators of these allegations.

Makini Schools has always operated with the utmost professionalism, transparency, and integrity. The well-being, safety, and holistic development of our learners, staff, and the entire school community are our foremost priority. We remain unwavering in our dedication to delivering an exceptional educational experience that nurtures academic excellence, personal growth, and social well-being.

We appreciate that these allegations, baseless as they are, may be cause for alarm and for this reason we encourage concerned parties to visit our campuses and tour the facilities we have invested in for the development of our learners and the welfare of our community.

The Management of Makini Schools will provide regular updates on the progression of legal measures being taken to arrest the malicious debasement of our reputation. In the meantime, we encourage all concerned parties to contact us via official channels with any questions or concerns.

Signed,

Dr. Hezron Otieno McObewa

Chairman of Makini School Advisory Board
