Educational Visits

Makini Schools value educational visits and experiential learning and therefore we organise a wide range of learning opportunities outside of the classroom. These include subject specific day trips, local and regional visits to museums and galleries and concerts, as well as overnight regional and international educational visits.

These are designed to support academic learning and to expose students to other cultures and destinations and to develop a global perspective.

We have introduced a series of outdoor educational visits which are age specific and designed to encourage independence, confidence and a wider understanding of local and regional issues such as conservation, environment and enterprise. Through this programme we expect that students will develop an awareness for the issues facing our country. These opportunities develop the skills required to be successful participants in the President’s Award which is only available to high school students.
