Teaching & Learning
The Cambridge curriculum is designed to be student-centered where learners are encouraged to take an active role in their learning with an international focus. The teaching framework prepares learners with relevant skills and knowledge for our ever-changing world. At Makini Cambridge, our aim is to provide excellent and enjoyable learning experience for all of our learners by providing a broad and balanced curriculum, with opportunity for some specialization in areas of strength or interest of the learners.
In line with technology integration in education Makini school is using a platform known as the ADvLEARN which is an AI-powered digital learning platform tool, which has a profound impact on academic excellence. The ADvLEARN platform is an adaptive system that tailors the learning experience to each student's learning pathway based in their individual unique strengths and weaknesses. Through adaptive learning advanced algorithms and data analytics, ADvLEARN processes the student’s performance metrics and adjusts learning pathways accordingly. This is a personalized approach that ensures that no child is left behind, as the system identifies knowledge gaps and prioritizes resources and activities to address them effectively.
Key knowledge
Our curriculum delivery methods have identified key knowledge area that will enable learners to have a secure understanding of the world. Curriculum subjects have identified precisely defined ‘end points’ for each module. They have then planned the small components of learning students need to achieve at each end point.
The Cambridge curriculum is carefully sequenced so that learners acquire mastery and embed deep and rich knowledge webs in long term memory. Our learners are given many opportunities to apply this knowledge in a broad range of academic studies, so that they become fluent and skillful in application. This enables our students to not only achieve success in examinations at IGCSE and Advanced Level, but also to solve complex real-life problems.
Curriculum breadth and balance
A key principle of the Cambridge curriculum design is to provide a broad, enriching cultural experience through our teaching of subjects and our enrichment Programme. This cultural experience includes a wide range of clubs, cultural visits, and leadership opportunities so that students enjoy learning and understand how so many aspects of science, the arts and culture are interconnected in a fascinating and exciting way.
